What not to wear

Jana, the accident-prone vizsla, (see here and here) broke her remarkably long run of wound-free months by getting a gash above her elbow last Thursday. (Don't enlarge the photo if you're a bit squeamish).

We are not sure exactly how she did it but it required stitching, which means two weeks restricted exercise and, worst of all, having to sport the dreaded collar!

"This is SO not me.
Do you have anything a little more understated..........in pink?"

Poor Jana, Ky says sorry. xx

Those pesky dogs and their injuries. But Jana looks so "fetching" in that collar. I think white vellum is definitely her color. :)

Poor baby, the collar probably gives her more misery than the wound. I love the beauty of this breed!

Urk... That's the torture collar!!!

I hope Jana feels better asap!

Ah, the life of an active dog. I had a heeler one time that "shaved" some flesh off his forehead on the muffler while diving under a truck. They just get in such a hurry they are bound to get hurt! Hopefully the wound heals quickly.

Poor you, Jana. But I gotta tell you, you are just gorgeous with or without the lampshade. Try and rest and they'll take it off before you know it!
Hugs xo

Does that mean no SKC?

Thankfully, no money has been wasted on SKC Karen. She wasn't entered because her breeder is judging.

Oh Gennasus! What happened!!! Keep it low key, heal fast....

Hugs and snaggle-tooth kisses,

Poor Jana - eating's such a messy business in those collars!

Oh how I relate to your vet bill! We've made 2 emergency visits already this year. One for each vizsla. It's as if they say to the other "oh I can top that one" and crash into something because they are too busy wrestling and paying no attention to where they are going.

O Jana!

How dreadful!
You still look pretty though ;O)

I once met a staffy pup with a collar like that on - he runned straight up to me and I must admit that I was a bit freaked out at first because he was so little I couldn't see his head and I thought I was witnessing frankenstein's dogster with a bucket for a head!

I hope you heal quickly!
smooches,

Poor Jana!! E-collars I think are the bane of an injured dog's existence.
