Skywatch Friday

Covesea lighthouse surrounded by a sea of gorse

This is how our sky has been all this week, a beautiful clear blue and looking very much like the height of summer. Not quite summer temperatures though, due to strong winds, but here's hoping it's a sign of good months ahead.

Visit Skywatch Friday to see many more skies from all around the world.

Would you mind throwing a little of the clear sky across the water my way. The colours scream warmth, but the location not so. Gorgeous though.

This is a beautiful composition - and the colors are lovely. Thanks for showing me what gorse is - it's mentioned in a powerful song by Shawn Phillips...

Song For Northern Ireland

Come to thee, the peace, on a green and lovely island
If you please, if you please
Where the gorse is brightly growing
In the mirror of the morning
And the sweeping hills surround you
And the time it cannot bind you
With the cattle grazing slowly
While the sun is setting lowly to the ground
Such a golden sun above thee
When the rain is not upon thee
And the emerald glint abounds thee
And the colors dost astound thee
Can you see them through the bloodbath?
Can you see them through the tears your people shed?
And the wrath of God now smolders
And the weight's upon your shoulders
And the weight is never ending
'Till you're stopping all the killing
Don't you see?

There isn´t much happening on your sky but everything else is just heavenly, especially the land with it´s cool textures.

Nice contrast of colours with the bright yellow gorse and the deep blue of the sea

Lovely deceptive Moray Firth day - I can feel that cold wind from the East. Still, if it brings blue skies like this we can't complain too much.

The lighthouse photo is stunning. The composition, balance, colors so visually appealing. Makes me want to be there!!!! Sunny days can be deceptively cold this time of year.

Beautiful photo - as usual. I received my Paw It Forward package - the pics didn't turn out very well - I adore the little white thing - I won't drop it long enough for mom to get a picture.

I don't think I've seen gorse since I left New Zealand . I'm a little surprised as people, here in Nevada, plant Scotch Broom as a landscape plant !!! :-)

Gorgeous view ....

Love the shot ... excellent !

I bet that gorse smelled wonderful! Down in Embra it's been so sunny that I've even got a bit of a tan! The weather changed yesterday though to wet and cold :( Enjoy the weekend!

Hi! Your photo is beautiful - I can feel the breeze, looking at the white caps on the water. Colors are rich & warm. Thanks for sharing. Thanks too for visiting my SWF. Yes - I have a pappy and her name is "Liberty Belle". She's the best friend I've ever had and such a wonderful companion. I'd love to have another.
