Oh my gracious, that storm looks very intimidating to say the least! I love looking at the Paps! They look like they are having a lot of fun in the pictures.
P.s. In answer to your question, the birds are Nuthatches, they are of the woodpecker family and are the only birds able to walk upside down up and down the tree trunk.
I feel for you. We had wonderful weather in the 50's last week (about 12 or 13 by your temperature measurement, I believe) and now we are back below 32 (your zero) this morning. Ugh.

Very cool photo, shame about the horrible day! Seems like we're not the only place to have had storms today.
It was pretty uncomfortable in the garage also. Trying in vain to get my motorbike fixed!
Ne'er cast a clout etc.....comes to mind!
Rare for us to have lovely sunshine and you guys to have terrible weather.
A very dramatic photo. Wouldn't want to be dog walking in that lot thank you very much.

That does not look pretty! Though, it does make a terrific shot.
